What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from June 2026. ERO found high quality teaching that is improving progress in reading, writing and maths, caring and inclusive classrooms where teachers know students well, and purposeful leadership with strong community partnerships.
Children with complex needs get good support, reporting to families is useful and accurate, and most learners met the expected level in reading.
ERO also found that fewer than half of learners met the expected level in writing and in maths, and results were not yet equitable across groups. Attendance was approaching the 80% target.
The key priorities are to embed structured approaches to literacy and maths so all students make progress and outcomes become more equitable, and to widen strategies that lift regular attendance and reduce chronic absence.

Enrolling
Wallacetown School has no enrolment zone, so any student can apply. Families enrol in person, where the principal talks through the school, provides the enrolment documents and gives a tour.
The school encourages families to enrol new entrants well before they turn five, and the new entrant teacher then arranges school visits. Families of children who need extra support are asked to tell the school at enrolment so transition and funding can be arranged.
