What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from April 2025. ERO found good quality teaching that is lifting progress in reading, writing and maths, a shared structured approach to literacy across the year levels, and leaders who grow teachers’ expertise.
Children with complex needs get good support, the school does well on engagement, wellbeing and inclusion, and the community is closely involved in setting the school’s direction.
ERO also reported that a small majority of learners met the expected curriculum level in reading and maths, fewer than half did in writing, and results were not yet equitable across groups. Attendance was below the 80% regular attendance target, though improving.
The agreed priorities are a structured approach to maths with teacher training, raising achievement in literacy and maths with a focus on boys’ writing, more leadership and say in their learning for Year 5 and 6 students, and an attendance plan shared with families.

Enrolling
Tisbury School has an enrolment scheme, so children living in the home zone have the right to enrol. The board decides each year whether it has any out-of-zone places, and any places are advertised in the local newspaper. The enrolment page shows the zone map and a written zone description.
Families apply through the online enrolment form linked from the enrolment page. New entrants start on set entry dates each term once they have turned five, and children moving into the zone from another school can start straight away.
